PSC Chairman Visits Police Academy Wudil, Commends Transparent Screening Process

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), has commended the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, for maintaining transparency and professionalism in the ongoing 12th Regular Course Screening Exercise.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Academy, DSP Musa Isah Umar, the PSC Chairman made the commendation during his visit to the Academy on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was received by the Commandant, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, alongside members of the screening board and other senior officers.

DIG Argungu expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, describing it as fair, transparent, and strictly merit-driven. He applauded the collaborative spirit among the stakeholders and encouraged them to sustain the standard that has made the Academy a model of discipline and efficiency.

The PSC Chairman further advised the management of the Academy to continue to uphold accountability in the screening process by allowing whistleblowers to discharge their duties without fear or interference. He emphasized that transparency and integrity remain the foundation of credible police recruitment and training.

As a show of support, DIG Argungu presented relevant books to the screening board members, underscoring the need for continuous learning and professional development in the face of evolving security challenges.

In his remarks, the Commandant of the Academy, AIG Atayero, thanked the PSC Chairman for the visit and reiterated the commitment of the institution to maintaining global best practices in police education and training.
