The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi-Lagos, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Rose Chollom Dung, mspsp, has partnered with the Institute of Public Safety and Security in Work Environment to conduct a comprehensive capacity-building training for officers and men of the Unit.
The training featured sessions on emerging investigative trends, forensic analysis, and case management strategies, all aimed at enhancing the investigative and analytical competencies of PSFU personnel. The initiative forms part of the Unit’s continuous drive to strengthen professionalism, promote intelligence-led investigation, and align operations with global best practices in fraud detection and prosecution.
In her opening remarks, CP Rose Chollom Dung emphasized that the programme underscores the Unit’s firm commitment to capacity development as a key tool in effective crime-fighting particularly in today’s dynamic and technology-driven landscape of financial and cyber-related crimes.
She noted that improved investigative methodologies would not only yield more credible outcomes in complex fraud cases but also enhance public trust and confidence in the Unit’s operations.
The Commissioner expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his visionary leadership and commitment to a professionally driven Police Force that prioritizes personnel development.
She also commended the Institute of Public Safety and Security for its strategic collaboration and technical support, describing the partnership as “timely, purposeful, and vital in equipping officers with modern investigative tools.”
CP Dung reaffirmed the Unit’s dedication to ensuring that its personnel continue to benefit from regular training and retraining programmes designed to meet contemporary challenges in law enforcement and financial crime investigation.
