Despite a heavy downpour on Friday, July 4, 2025, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) pressed ahead with its ward-to-ward campaign, drawing a resilient and enthusiastic crowd in Wards G1 and F1.
Supporters, residents, and party loyalists stood firm under umbrellas and pouring rain to reaffirm their support for the party’s flagbearers—Chairmanship candidate Akogun Wale Raji Anomo and his running mate, Alhaji Wasiu Oluwole Dehinsilu. The charged atmosphere underscored the party’s growing momentum ahead of the July 12 local government elections.
The campaign event also featured the formal presentation of APC Councillorship candidates Hon. Adesanya Shakirat Adeyinka (Ward G1) and Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun (Ward F1), both seeking re-election after what was described as impactful first-term service. Their warm reception by constituents served as a strong signal of grassroots approval and confidence in their continued representation.
Addressing the crowd, Akogun Anomo highlighted the achievements of his administration, including upgrades in road infrastructure, educational facilities, primary healthcare, community empowerment, and security support. He assured the electorate that his second term would prioritize inclusive development and deepen progress across all sectors.
“This turnout, in spite of the rain, tells a powerful story—not just of loyalty, but of trust built on performance,” Anomo said. “We are not here to make promises; we are here to continue the work we have already begun.”
Also speaking at the rally, Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Yusuf, hailed the determination of party members and residents alike, describing the rain-soaked event as a symbolic vote of confidence. “This is grassroots democracy in action. The people know who has delivered and who can be trusted to do more,” he remarked.
With campaign stops at Wards Q1 and R1 scheduled for Monday, July 7, and a grand rally planned for Thursday, July 10, the APC’s campaign machinery in Ikosi-Ejinrin continues to demonstrate unity, energy, and strong voter engagement.
The rallies in Wards G1 and F1 add to the growing evidence of the party’s electoral strength, with campaign officials expressing optimism that the APC will secure a decisive victory in the forthcoming polls.
