Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially presented flags to all 57 chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State. The ceremony took place during a strategic stakeholders’ engagement at the Lagos State House, Marina.
Among those confirmed was Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, who received the party flag as the APC’s duly recognized candidate for Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA). She was accompanied by key party stakeholders from the LCDA in a show of solidarity and grassroots support.
The APC State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, joined Governor Sanwo-Olu in affirming the legitimacy of the candidates, stating clearly: “The individuals presented today are the authentic flagbearers of our great party.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu used the occasion to call for unity within party ranks, urging aggrieved aspirants to set aside personal differences and work in the interest of the party’s success at the polls. “Now is the time to come together,” he said. “Let us shelve our swords and strengthen our common front.”
With the party’s backing now official, Princess Samiat’s candidacy gains renewed momentum as she heads into the election season representing the APC in Ikosi-Isheri.
