The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, welcomed a delegation from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the National Research Fund (NRF) on Tuesday, 20 May 2025, as part of a research evaluation visit aimed at strengthening academic and research capacity at the institution.
Speaking on the significance of the visit, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Umar Musa Isah, said the evaluation reflects the growing recognition of the Academy’s role in contributing to national research and academic excellence, particularly in security and law enforcement education.
The Commandant of the Academy, Assistant Inspector General Patrick A. Atayero, received the delegation and commended TETFund and NRF for their continued support. He reaffirmed the Academy’s dedication to fostering a strong research culture, which he described as essential to national development and professional policing standards.
“The Nigeria Police Academy remains committed to producing quality research that supports policy, education, and operational improvements in policing,” AIG Atayero stated during the meeting.
This evaluation visit is part of ongoing efforts by TETFund and NRF to support and monitor research initiatives across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, with particular focus on improving outcomes in specialized training institutions like the Nigeria Police Academy.
