Zamfara Government to Distribute 100 Security Vehicles, Launch 50 Transit Buses to Mark Governor Lawal’s Second Anniversary

The Zamfara State Government is set to mark the second anniversary of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration with the distribution of 100 security vehicles to various security agencies and the launch of 50 mass transit buses aimed at improving public transportation across the state.

The official handover and commissioning ceremony will take place today at the Trade Fair Complex in Gusau, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

According to government officials, the gesture is part of ongoing efforts by the Lawal-led administration to enhance the operational capacity of security agencies and address the persistent security challenges confronting Zamfara.

Governor Lawal has repeatedly emphasized the need to overhaul the state’s security infrastructure while simultaneously investing in critical sectors like transportation, education, and healthcare. The newly acquired buses are expected to ease movement and reduce transportation costs for residents, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

The ceremony is expected to attract a wide range of dignitaries, including members of the State House of Assembly, the Judiciary, Executive Council members, political party leaders, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, permanent secretaries, and heads of extra-ministerial departments and agencies.

The anniversary activities underscore the administration’s commitment to delivering democratic dividends and ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens throughout Zamfara State.
