A man has been arrested at Oke-Ira Ilogbo Eremi area of Badagry for allegedly stabbing his wife to death with a kitchen knife.
The suspect Peter Dike was said to have killed his 38 yr old wife on an allegation of infidelity.
Confirming the incident, Lagos Police spokesman, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin said that a team of detectives while on patrol of the town got a hint of the incident and raced down to the scene where they beheld Mr. Dike holding the lifeless body of his wife soaked in her own blood crying and calling for help.
He noted that police officers inspected the body and discovered that the woman had died and the husband was immediately arrested while the corpse had been deposited at the Badagry General hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Mr. Hundeyin said that the suspect had confessed to the crime.
“Upon interrogation, Dike confessed to the crime and the case will be transfered to the SCIID Panti for further investigation”
The Crown News learnt that the couples had been married for almost a decade not until the issue of suspicions of infidelity started causing arguments.
It was further gathered that Dike and his wife always had alterations which usually led to Dike recalling on the promiscuous nature of his wife before another one ensued on the fateful day during which he allegedly stabbed her in the belly with a kitchen knife.
