The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, at his office in Abuja.
The visit underscored the strong institutional ties between the Ministry and the Police Academy, particularly as Senator Geidam also serves as Chairman of the Academy’s Governing Council.
During the meeting, the Minister warmly welcomed AIG Atayero and wished him success in his leadership role at the Academy. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the Academy’s mission to produce well-trained and professional police officers.
Also present was DIG Sadiq Abubakar, the immediate past Commandant of the Academy, whose presence highlighted continuity and the Academy’s ongoing dedication to excellence in police education and training.
Discussions during the visit centered on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and the Academy, particularly in aligning the Academy’s training programs with evolving national security challenges and contemporary policing needs.
The visit marks a renewed commitment to enhancing professional standards in policing through a strong partnership between the Nigeria Police Academy and the Ministry of Police Affairs.
