Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the chairmanship of Epe Local Government following her victory at the just-concluded party primaries.
In an official goodwill message released after the declaration, the incumbent Executive Chairman expressed profound gratitude to party members, community leaders, and supporters for the renewed confidence in her leadership.
“To the Almighty God be all the glory for the divine grace and favour that secured my emergence once again as the APC candidate for the Executive Chairmanship of Epe Local Government,” she said. “This victory is a reflection of the unwavering trust and unity of our people.”
Acknowledgement of APC Leadership and Political Mentors
Princess Animashaun extended appreciation to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his enduring vision that continues to guide the party across all levels. She also acknowledged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat for their steadfast support and grassroots-focused governance in Lagos State.
Key figures within the APC, both at the national and state level, were recognized for their influence and backing, including Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, Hon. James Faleke, and Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
Locally, she expressed gratitude to political mentors such as Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, Hon. Tasri Olawale Raji, Hon. Mustain Abiodun Tobun, and Hon. Bola Gbabijo, among others.
Royal Blessings and Community Unity
She also paid glowing tribute to her father, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe Land, for his royal guidance, as well as her mother, Olori Subuola Adunni Animashaun, for her spiritual and emotional support.
Princess Animashaun saluted the traditional rulers across Epe, including Oba Shefiu Adewale Gbangbopa Eshinlokun and Oba Nureni Ebudola Alugbin, and praised the unity fostered by Baales and community leaders.
Gratitude to Party Members and Stakeholders
The APC candidate commended councillors, LG Exco members, party stakeholders, and the PSOA political structure for their loyalty and hard work. She praised the collective efforts of youth groups, women’s associations, religious leaders, and professionals across sectors who contribute to the vibrancy and development of Epe.
“To my cherished family—my husband, children, and siblings—your sacrifices and encouragement fortify my resolve to serve,” she added.
Focus on the General Elections
With the general local government elections slated for July, Princess Animashaun called for renewed unity within the party and across the community. She emphasized that the APC’s victory at the polls will require continued collaboration and grassroots mobilization.
“This is not just a personal victory; it is a collective call to deepen our commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development. Together, we will build an Epe of equity, innovation, and shared prosperity,” she affirmed.
She also extended goodwill to fellow aspirants and emphasized that “the ultimate goal remains the continued progress of Epe.
