In a continued drive to promote professionalism and excellence within the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has honored 23 outstanding officers with Medals of Excellence and Letters of Commendation for their exceptional service in the first quarter of 2025.
The presentation ceremony, which took place during the Monday Muster Parade at the Command Headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, was led by the FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu. He stated that the awards were based strictly on merit, with recommendations made by heads of departments, units, Area Commands, and Divisions across the Command.
“These awards are a reflection of our commitment to a performance-based system. They are given purely on merit and without any iota of bias,” said Dr. Odumosu. “It is my own way of encouraging officers to give their best and remain committed to the Corps’ mandate.”
Speaking on the significance of the recognition, the FCT Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Monica Ojobi, emphasized that the initiative has had a noticeable impact on morale and productivity. “We have seen improved dedication across the board since the introduction of this reward system. Officers are more driven and purposeful in carrying out their duties,” she noted.
Dr. Odumosu added that the awards would continue on a quarterly basis as part of a broader strategy to motivate personnel and hold commanders accountable for performance within their respective jurisdictions. He warned against complacency, saying, “Your performance will always speak for you. If you’re not delivering, it will be clear. I urge all officers to rise to the challenge and justify the trust and investment placed in them.”
The Commandant reiterated his focus on strategic leadership and accountability at all levels, underscoring that only active and results-driven officers would thrive under his watch.
