The Lagos State Police Command has recorded a series of successful operations in the past two weeks, resulting in the arrest of 27 suspects linked to various crimes across the state. This was disclosed during a press briefing held at the Command Headquarters on May 12, 2025.
Addressing journalists, the Command’s spokesperson noted that the suspects were apprehended for offenses ranging from murder, defilement, kidnapping, and armed robbery to vandalism, cultism, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
“These arrests are the result of coordinated efforts, credible intelligence, and prompt response by our operatives. We remain committed to ensuring that Lagos remains safe and secure for all residents,” the spokesperson stated.
In the course of these operations, the police recovered an array of items, including two firearms, seven rounds of ammunition, one stolen vehicle, a tricycle, three battle axes, three cutlasses, charms, and other contraband materials.
The Command assured the public that all suspects are currently undergoing investigation, and those found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The police also called on the public to continue supporting security efforts by providing timely and useful information, emphasizing that community partnership is key to maintaining peace and safety across Lagos.
