The North West zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 presidential race, passing a unanimous vote of confidence in his leadership.
The endorsement followed a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday in Kaduna. The gathering brought together key figures from the zone, including all sitting governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Senate President, former governors, as well as the APC National Chairman, state party chairmen, federal and state lawmakers, ministers, heads of federal agencies, and senior political appointees.
Reading the communiqué on behalf of the zone, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who serves as the APC North West Coordinating Governor, reaffirmed the region’s unflinching loyalty to the party and total support for President Tinubu’s leadership and vision.
“We express our full confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda. His purposeful leadership, bold reforms, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s progress, especially in the North West, deserve our support,” Governor Sani stated.
The communiqué praised President Tinubu for the improved security situation in the zone, which it said has enabled many farmers to return to their fields and restored peace in several communities.
Highlighting the inclusiveness of the current administration, the stakeholders noted that the North West enjoys a significant share of federal representation, including 12 ministerial slots, key positions in the National Assembly, and critical security appointments.
The meeting also pointed to the ongoing execution of major infrastructure projects across the region as evidence of a new era of development under the Tinubu-led administration.
“APC continues to grow in strength, unity, and national appeal,” the communiqué stated. “This is due to Nigerians’ increasing appreciation of President Tinubu’s governance and the efforts of our APC governors across the country.”
The North West zone, one of the most populous and politically influential in Nigeria, played a crucial role in Tinubu’s 2023 victory and now stands poised to back him once again in 2027.
