Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, led by Hon. Kamal Bayewu, conducted an oversight visit to Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area Secretariat on [insert date], recognizing the Executive Chairman, Raji Anomo, for his exemplary commitment to staff welfare and grassroots governance.
The visit featured a delegation comprising Commissioners Hon. Hakeem Bamgbala, Hon. Ahmed Seriki, and Hon. Taofik Adaranijo, representing the five administrative divisions of Lagos State, alongside Permanent Secretaries and Directors from the Commission.
The Commission’s assessment focused on key aspects of local government administration including staff welfare, deployment, promotion, and discipline. During the visit, staff were introduced to new administrative innovations aimed at enhancing efficiency and service delivery within the local government system.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Ahmed Seriki, Commissioner II representing the Epe Division, stressed the importance of professionalism, accountability, and dedication among civil servants. He commended Chairman Anomo for his visionary leadership and consistent prioritization of employee welfare, encouraging staff to uphold excellence in their duties.
Responding in his welcome address, Hon. Raji Anomo expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged continued focus on improving working conditions and staff welfare. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Council’s management and workforce as integral to the area’s development and service achievements.
Council Manager Mr. Awobajo Sunday delivered the vote of thanks, praising the Commission’s proactive role in policy development and commending the Chairman’s recent initiatives on capacity building and employee motivation. He remarked, “Local government staff have never had it this good.”
A highlight of the event was the announcement of a ₦20,000 Ileya bonus for all staff, generously approved by Chairman Anomo, which was met with enthusiastic approval from the workforce.
The visit underscores the commitment of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA leadership and Lagos State Local Government Service Commission to fostering an enabling environment for local government employees, thereby enhancing overall governance and service delivery at the grassroots level.
