The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hashimu Argungu, has extended warm greetings to Muslims across the country on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, calling for renewed commitment to unity, tolerance, and the collective good of the nation.
In a message released on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of the Commission, Argungu described the festival as a sacred reminder of the values of faith, obedience, sacrifice, and compassion — virtues he said are essential to building a peaceful and just society.
“As we commemorate this important religious festival, Nigerians are encouraged to reflect on the lessons of Eid and recommit to national unity, peaceful coexistence, and shared progress,” the statement read.
The PSC Chairman also commended Muslim officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force for their continued dedication to duty, even during the festive period, acknowledging their role in maintaining public safety.
He expressed hope that the celebration would usher in peace, prosperity, and renewed optimism for the country.
“Let us continue to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and service to humanity as we celebrate with loved ones,” the statement concluded.
