The Kebbi State Police Command has recovered high-tension electrical cables and motorcycles suspected to have been abandoned by vandals during a dawn patrol operation in the Ribah district of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the recovery occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on June 16, 2025, when a combined patrol team of police officers and local vigilantes encountered the suspects along the Saki/Unashi road. The individuals, believed to be involved in the vandalisation of national power infrastructure, fled the scene on sighting the patrol team, leaving behind motorcycles and the stolen electrical materials.
Authorities say a thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the full circumstances of the incident and to identify and apprehend all those involved in the criminal act.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani, has commended the swift response and professionalism of the patrol team. He also emphasized the importance of sustained vigilance and renewed efforts in safeguarding critical infrastructure across the state.
The police command reaffirmed its commitment to combating crime and ensuring the protection of public and national assets.
