The Labour Party in Epe Local Government Area has kicked off its campaign activities with a rally held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, drawing a sizable crowd of supporters and signaling the start of a broader grassroots mobilisation ahead of the local government elections.
Speaking after the event, Dr. Abdulkareem Onakoya, a senior party figure in Epe, thanked residents for their turnout and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to people-centered governance, justice, and what he described as the “liberation of Epe” from ineffective leadership.
“Our house-to-house campaign continues tomorrow,” Onakoya said, noting that the next major rally is scheduled for Saturday, June 28. “We are inspired by the energy of our people and confident that this momentum will translate into real votes for real change.”
The rally marked the formal introduction of the Epe Rescue Team—the campaign structure backing Labour Party’s local candidates, including Hon. Tajudeen Obafemi, who is running on a platform of transparency, development, and inclusive governance.
