Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has completed the upgrade of six out of nine roads across key communities in Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), as part of his ongoing commitment to grassroots infrastructure development.
The upgraded roads, which cut across several wards, include rehabilitated routes in Odogbawojo, Ibonwon, Odo-Egiri, and Mojoda. In Igbooye and Poka, where poor road conditions had long posed challenges to transportation and local trade, the recent improvements have been widely celebrated by residents and community stakeholders. The works are aimed at enhancing access to schools, markets, health facilities, and boosting agricultural movement across rural corridors.
Among the completed projects are road upgrades in Olayemi Street, Ibonwon; MOT/Odomola Road; Ogun Road, Odogbawojo; Odo-Egiri Road; FEKO Road, Ibonwon; and Oluayan Road in Mojoda. These roads serve as vital lifelines for both residential and commercial mobility in the LCDA.
Three additional roads — including Jalugaye Road in Igbooye, Jagunmolu Street in Poka, and one other — are currently under construction. Hon. Ogunkelu, fondly known as Sketel, has assured constituents that the remaining works will be delivered within the stipulated time frame, reaffirming his commitment to service delivery and project completion.
Speaking to community leaders during an inspection tour, the lawmaker emphasized that road infrastructure is central to his agenda for Epe Constituency II, especially as it pertains to improving quality of life and attracting investment into historically underserved areas.
The road projects form part of Hon. Ogunkelu’s broader legislative push for inclusive development across Lagos’ hinterlands. His efforts have been widely acknowledged by constituents, many of whom say his leadership has brought visibility and progress to previously neglected communities.
As the 2027 elections gradually approach, Hon. Ogunkelu’s focus on fulfilling campaign promises and prioritizing the welfare of his people continues to solidify his standing as a trusted representative in the Lagos State legislature.
With road access being a cornerstone of rural development, the successful completion of these projects is expected to drive social and economic growth across Eredo LCDA and beyond.
