With just days to the Lagos State Local Government elections, the incumbent Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has made a clarion call to residents of the community to rally behind his bid for a second term in office, citing his administration’s track record in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and local empowerment initiatives.
Speaking through a campaign appeal ahead of the July 12, 2025 polls, Hon. Akinloye urged constituents to “vote for what works,” emphasizing the need for continuity, tested leadership, and sustained development across the LCDA.
“The time is now. The call is clear,” the chairman said. “We have laid a strong foundation for Eredo’s growth. Now is not the time to pause progress—it’s time to build on it.”
Under Akinloye’s first tenure, Eredo witnessed significant investment in rural and urban road upgrades, educational support schemes, health outreach programs, and community security enhancement. Many observers say these interventions have helped reshape the development narrative in one of Lagos’ fastest-growing councils.
The campaign—which has adopted hashtags such as #EredoForProgress, #VoteMonsuru2025, and #LeadershipWithResults—has gathered momentum in the lead-up to the election, with strong backing from civil society, traditional leaders, and grassroots organizations.
Among those endorsing the chairman is Amb. Kassim Yusuf Adegboyega (Leecrown), Nigeria’s 2024 National Best Public Senior Secondary School Teacher. Speaking in support, he said:
“Experience matters. Leadership counts. And Eredo deserves the best—Hon. Monsuru Akinloye has proven himself as a leader who listens, delivers, and governs with heart.”
The campaign team continues to mobilize across the wards of Eredo, encouraging eligible voters to turn out en masse at their respective polling units.
As election day approaches, Hon. Akinloye remains focused on reinforcing his administration’s message of performance-driven leadership and inclusive development, assuring residents that a second term would consolidate the progress already made.
