As Lagos State counts down to the July 12 local government elections, the people of Epe are being called upon to reaffirm their commitment to continuity, purposeful leadership, and sustained development by re-electing the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun.
In a rallying message released ahead of the polls, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Yusuff O. Temitayo, highlighted the remarkable achievements recorded under Animashaun’s first term, describing her as a leader whose tenure has redefined local governance through people-oriented policies, infrastructural renewal, and inclusive empowerment.
According to the statement, Princess Surah’s leadership has delivered tangible improvements in areas such as road infrastructure, healthcare, education support, youth and women empowerment, and security. Her administration has also prioritised community development, clean environment initiatives, and strategic investments in the agricultural and tourism sectors.
“The journey of transformation began four years ago, and the results are visible across Epe. From modern roads to accessible healthcare and empowered youth, the Princess of Transformation has proven that governance at the grassroots can be visionary, accountable, and impactful,” the statement read.
As part of her second-term agenda, the Executive Chairman has unveiled a strategic blueprint that aims to deepen the development gains of her first term. This includes expanded agricultural empowerment programs for farmers and fishers, tourism development to harness Epe’s economic potential, increased bursary awards for students, enhanced security collaborations, infrastructure upgrades, and digital skills training for youths.
The campaign message also positions Animashaun’s re-election as a vote for stability and progress. “Leadership is not trial and error. It is built on trust, experience, and a clear track record. Epe cannot afford to gamble with its future or interrupt the progress made under Princess Surah’s stewardship,” it added.
With the July 12 election approaching, residents are being urged to turn out en masse with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to support a candidate whose governance has been marked by compassion, competence, and delivery.
“Let our votes speak for peace, performance, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Let us re-elect Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun—the woman who has governed with heart, served with honor, and transformed with purpose,” the statement concluded.
