The Rivers State Police Command has declared two senior officials of the Ahoada-East Local Government Area wanted over their alleged involvement in the violent attack on the Sole Administrator of the Council, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.
The incident, which occurred on June 20, 2025, at the Ahoada-East Council Secretariat, reportedly involved a coordinated assault led by Mr. Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the local government, and Mr. Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff (COS). Both men, along with about thirty others, are accused of criminal conspiracy, stealing, assault occasioning harm, and attempted murder.
According to the Police, the suspects allegedly stormed the Secretariat in a premeditated attack, during which Hon. Iheanachor was physically assaulted, sustained multiple injuries, and was coerced into signing undisclosed documents under duress. The attackers also reportedly made away with the victim’s mobile phones, official documents, and other personal and government property.
Despite an earlier public notice and formal invitation to appear at the State Police Headquarters for questioning, the suspects failed to comply. In response, the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, psc, mnips, has formally declared Mr. Ekakita and Mr. Olodi wanted.
The Police Command warned that anyone found harboring or aiding the wanted individuals will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. CP Adepoju urged the suspects to report themselves at the State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, without further delay.
Meanwhile, Hon. Iheanachor is still receiving medical treatment for the injuries sustained during the attack.
The Rivers State Police Command reaffirmed its dedication to upholding justice, protecting public officials, and maintaining law and order in the state.
