The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, on Saturday played host to Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Funsho Adegboye who delivered a strategic lecture to cadets and senior staff as part of the institution’s ongoing leadership development series.
The lecture, organized under the leadership of the 24th Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc (UK), MBA (USA), psc, was designed to deepen operational knowledge and prepare cadets of Regular Course 7 for active policing duties as they near graduation.
Drawing from his vast operational and strategic experience, AIG Adegboye, who oversees the Police Mobile Force which is the striking arm of the Nigeria Police Force, shared practical insights on professionalism, discipline, and the evolving demands of modern policing. His address challenged cadets to uphold the highest standards of integrity while adapting to emerging security threats.
The interactive session was attended by directing staff, senior officers, and graduating cadets, who engaged the guest lecturer on a range of operational and leadership issues.
The initiative forms part of the strategic vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun to reposition the Nigeria Police Force through continuous professional development, knowledge sharing, and mentorship of young officers.
In his remarks, the Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick Atayero, commended AIG Adegboye for his invaluable contribution to the intellectual and professional growth of the cadets. He described the lecture as timely, noting that it aligns with the Academy’s commitment to grooming officers who are not only operationally ready but also ethically grounded.
At the close of the event, a token of appreciation was presented to AIG Adegboye in recognition of his service and the impactful lecture delivered.
The Nigeria Police Academy has, in recent years, expanded its lecture series and mentorship platforms to ensure cadets are well-prepared for the challenges of policing in a dynamic and complex security environment.
