The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has recorded another academic milestone as one of its cadets, Hillary Nwabueze Ugwu, received an international certificate of publication for a scholarly research work.
Ugwu, a cadet of Regular Course 8 in the Department of History and International Studies, had his research article titled “Combating Transnational Crime in Nigeria: An Examination of the Activities of Interpol in Curbing Cybercrime, 2000–2024” published in the International Journal of Social Science and Human Research, a reputable global academic journal.
The 24th Commandant of the Academy, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Patrick A. Atayero, formally acknowledged the achievement and conveyed the congratulations of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. He described the publication as a reflection of the Academy’s growing emphasis on academic excellence, research, and intellectual development.
AIG Atayero noted that the accomplishment underscores the capacity of Nigeria Police Academy cadets to contribute meaningfully to national and global discourse on security and transnational crime, particularly in emerging areas such as cybercrime.
He further encouraged other cadets to engage in research, innovation, and scholarly pursuits that enhance professional competence and promote the image of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Academy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting academic initiatives that align with modern policing standards and strengthen the intellectual foundation of future police officers.
