The Lagos Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday decorated 55 newly promoted officers and formally commended 23 others in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
The decoration ceremony was presided over by the State Commander, Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN) Abubakar Liman Wali, following the release of promotion results from the recently concluded promotion examinations and interviews conducted for deserving officers in 2025.
Speaking during the ceremony, ACGN Wali described the newly promoted and commended officers as shining examples of professionalism, discipline, and commitment within the Agency. He noted that the honours were well deserved, stressing that promotion in the NDLEA is earned through integrity, diligence, and dedication to assigned responsibilities.
The State Commander urged the officers to remain focused and committed to their duties, assuring them that their sacrifices were recognised and valued by the Agency. He encouraged them to reciprocate the recognition by redoubling their efforts in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse across Lagos State.
In her goodwill message, the Zonal Commander, NDLEA Zone 8 (Lagos and Ogun States), ACGN Stella Ngoke, commended the Lagos Strategic Command, its management team, and officers for their sustained efforts in dismantling drug cartels, confiscating criminal assets, and prosecuting offenders.
She described the promotions as a reflection of the NDLEA leadership’s commitment to staff welfare and motivation, urging officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by performing excellently in their respective assignments.
The ceremony underscored the NDLEA’s continued drive to boost morale and enhance operational effectiveness in the fight against drug-related crimes.
