The Federal Polytechnic Offa (Fedpoly Offa), Kwara state has concluded arrangements to host the 22nd edition of Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA), tagged, “IJAKADI 2024”.
The Rector, Dr. Kamoru Kadiri told newsmen in Offa that NIPOGA would kick off between Wednesday, April 2 and Saturday, April 12, 2025.
According to the Rector, this is the first time the institution is hosting the NIPOGA sporting events in its 33 years of establishment, added that the events would take place on both campuses of the institution.
Dr. Kadiri also said that the polytechnic would play host to student-athletes comprising males and females from about 50 polytechnics across the nation.
According to him the students would compete for medals in different sporting events which included Badminton,
Basketball, Chess, Tennis, Athletics, Football, Handball, Judo, Scrabble,Taekwondo and Volleyball.
He said that upgraded sporting facilities and equipment are ready for the sporting competition, as well as ultra modern multi purpose sports complex .
The rector maintained that the mandate given to host the NIPOGA was to take sports to the grassroots.
He assured that adequate arrangement had been put in place to ensure security of lives and property before, during and after the game.
