The Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa, has congratulated the Alara of Ilara, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, on his appointment as the sixth Chancellor of Lagos State University.
In a congratulatory statement made available to journalists, the traditional ruler described the appointment as a significant honour not only for the Ilara royal institution but also for traditional leadership across Lagos State. He noted that the recognition reflects the Alara’s dedication to education, leadership, and public service.
Oba Musa, speaking on behalf of the people of Igbooye Kingdom, said the new Chancellor’s leadership experience and commitment to community development would bring added value to the university’s academic and administrative advancement.
He added that the appointment demonstrates the continued relevance of traditional institutions in supporting educational growth and societal progress in the state.
The Orijeru offered prayers for a successful tenure, expressing optimism that the Alara would use his new role to inspire excellence and strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and traditional communities, particularly in Ilara Kingdom and beyond.
